SEC. 5. And be it enacted) That the several tobacco inspectors
in this state, be, and they are hereby authorized and required
to procure the branding irons necessary to carry this law into
effect, upon the best terms they can, and charge for the same in
their respective accounts, which charge shall be allowed by
the levy courts of the several counties, and by the treasurer of
the western shore, to the inspectors of the state warehouses in
the city of Baltimore.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act contained,
shall prevent the several inspectors of tobacco in this state, from
receiving all tobacco raised, cured and packed in all that part
of the District of Columbia, lying north and east of the Potomac
river, nor any citizen of this state from carrying his or her to-
bacco to the District of Columbia for inspection.
By 1836, ch. 191, the prohibition to export tobacco, without inspection,
to any state or territory, is removed.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That from and after the passage
of this act, it shall be the duty of the several inspectors of
tobacco in this state, to enter upon all manifests of tobacco
inspected in their respective warehouses, the day and year in
which said tobacco was inspected.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That from and after the passage
of this act, it shall be the further duty of said inspectors to
enter upon each and every note and manifest, the number,
gross and net weight, together with the words 'Growth of Ma-
ryland,' on all tobacco raised, cured and packed in said state.

SEC. 1, Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the first day of May next, it shall not be
lawful for any person or persons, body or bodies corporate or
politic, within this state, other than the grower, maker or manu-
facturer of the specific articles which shall be therein exposed
for sale or barter, to open, set up, keep or use, any booth, stall,
shop, office, store, warehouse or other building, yard, enclosure,
vessel, or any other place or part of any house, building or
other place, for the purpose of selling by wholesale or retail, or
