the same; and the minutes or the court, the entries in the dock-
ets, and the original papers and documents filed in such cause,
suit or prosecution, shall be sufficient vouchers and authorities
to the clerk or register, as the case may be, for entering the style
of the court by which, and the term and year in which, such
proceedings, verdict, judgment or decree, was had or rendered,
and for making up at full length a due and proper record thereof;
and it is expressly declared, that the eighth, ninth, and tenth
sections of the act, the title of which is above recited in this
section, shall be, and the same are hereby repealed, from and
after the commencement of the operation of this act.

 

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That all and every act or acts of
assembly, and supplements thereto, which is or are inconsistent
with, or repugnant to, the provisions of this act, be, and the
same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 251.

AN ACT to explain an Act, entitled, an Act taxing or licensing certain
Dealers in Lottery Tickets, and others, passed December Session,
eighteen hundred and twenty-one, chapter two hundred and thirty-two.
As the act of 1831, ch. 79, legalizes the sale of foreign lottery tickets, by
authorizing the lottery commissioners to grant licenses to vend them, I do
not deem it essential to reprint this chapter, containing provisions to punish
the sale of foreign tickets.

CHAPTER 253.

AN ACT to repeal a part of the Act therein mentioned, relating to Insolvent
Debtors in the City and County of Baltimore,

Repeal.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the second section of the act, entitled, an act relating to insol-
vent debtors, passed December session, one thousand eight
hundred and twenty-five, chapter two hundred and five, be and
the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 255.

AN ACT to ascertain the number of Deaf and Dumb of this State.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it sh'all be the duty of the collectors of the tax of the
several counties respectively, to ascertain and report to the next
general assembly the number of deaf and dumb residents of
their respective counties.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That for the services which each
collector of the tax may render in this behalf, he shall receive
the sum of one dollar for every individual so ascertained as
aforesaid to be deaf and dumb.
