give bond to the state, with security to be approved by the said
court, conditioned for the faithful performance and fulfilment of
the duties enjoined on them by this act.

Repeal.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts of
assembly which are repugnant to or inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this act, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 203.

* Ch. 81.

AN ACT to repeal part of an Act passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and six.*

Repeal.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the proviso contained in the second section of the act passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and six, entitled, an act to
restrain the evil practices arising from negroes keeping dogs,
and to prohibit them carrying guns or offensive weapons, be,
and the same is hereby repealed.
See 1831, ch. 323, sec. 6.

CHAPTER 206.
AN ACT to abolish Imprisonment of Females for Debt.

Imprison-
ment pro-
hibited.

Proviso.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, it shall not be lawful to
imprison any female for any debt contracted after the passage
of this act ; Provided, that nothing herein contained shall pre-
vent the issuing of the writ of ne exeat in any case where the
same may be now lawfully issued.

CHAPTER 207.
AN ACT to continue in force the Acts of Assembly which would expire
with the present session.

continued.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all such acts and parts of acts as would expire with the pre-
sent session of assembly, be, and the same are hereby con-
tinued to the last Monday of December next, and to the end
of the next session of assembly which shall happen thereafter,

Exception.

except an act passed at November session, seventeen hundred
and ninety-eight, chapter eighty-six, entitled, a supplement
to the act, entitled, an act for establishing and securing the
salary of the chancellor, and also except the act passed at
November session, seventeen hundred ninety-seven, chapter
seventy-one, entitled, an act to make a temporary allowance to
the chancellor, in addition to his salary as chancellor and judge
of the land office.
