CHAPTER 152.

AN ACT to continue in force the Acts of Assembly which would expire
with the present session.

Continued.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all such acts, and parts of such acts as would expire with the
present session of assembly, be and the same are hereby con-
tinued to the first day of December next, and to the end of the
next session of assembly which shall happen thereafter.

CHAPTER 160.

Aw ACT to reduce the price of the State's Lands in Allegany county.

Price of
land.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland ,
That all vacant lands in Allegany county, may hereafter be
taken up by common or special warrant, or warrant of resurvey,
in the usual manner, at one shilling and three pence per acre,
one-half to be paid at the time of obtaining the warrant and
the other half on the return of the certificate ; Provided, that
all warrants already issued shall be compounded on agreeably
to the law under which they were respectively obtained.

Repeal

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all such parts of the act of
1791, * as contravene the provisions of this act be and they are
hereby repealed.
AH the provisions of the act of 1791, eh. 85, except sec. 8, were
restricted to a class of cases which then existed, and were therefore omitted
in this compilation.

CHAPTER 165.

AN ACT to establish State Warehouses for the Inspection of Tobacco in
the City of Baltimore.
See 1801, ch. 63, ante page 437, where the modifications of the law re-
lating to the inspection of tobacco, are reviewed.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall not be lawful for the governor and council to ap-
point any inspector or inspectors to or for any warehouses for
the inspection of tobacco in the city of Baltimore, other than
those houses that are provided for by this act.

SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That the governor and council
be, and they are hereby authorized and required to contract on
the best terms for the renting of such a number of warehouses
for the inspection of tobacco in the city of Baltimore, as they
may think necessary,

By 1825, ch. 159, all the warehouses in the city of Baltimore are now
public property.
