receive the bond of any constable hereafter to be appointed by
them, to have the following oath (or affirmation) made before
some justice of the peace, endorsed thereon, to wit: 'We, A. 11.
and C. D. subscribing witnesses to the within bond, do make
oath, (or affirmation, as the case may be,) that the obligors
mentioned in said bond, did severally, in our presence, sign,
seal and deliver the said bond as their act and deed for the
purposes therein mentioned.'
CHAPTER 191.
A further SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to regulate Lotteries.

The 1st section of this act is superseded by 1826, ch. 268; and see
also 1827, ch. 160.
The 2d section is also in collision with, and therefore virtually abrogated
by 1825, ch. 210.
The 3d, 4th, and 5th sections are reprinted, although subsequent acts have
been passed upon the same subject, conflicting in some aspects with these
sections, but containing no positive repeal. The subsequent acts are enumera-
ted in the note to 1817, ch. 154, ante page 673.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the said commissioners
shall, so soon as they have fixed upon the scheme of a lottery,
transmit to the governor and council a copy of said scheme,
there to be prqserved ; and all money, notes, bonds, bills and
other securities received by the said commissioners in the sale
of tickets, shall be by them deposited in some bank in the city
of Baltimore, in the name of the commissioners, for the use and
benefit of the state of Maryland ; and the said commissioners
shall transmit to the governor and council at the end of every
month, an account of the money, notes, bills, bonds and other
securities so received and deposited, or as much oftener as they
shall be required by the governor and council so to do ; and
in case of neglect, omission or refusal of the said commissioners
to deposits the money, bills, bonds, notes or other security by
them received as aforesaid, or to render account and statements
as herein before directed, the governor and council are hereby
required to put the bond of said commissioners in suit.

SEC, 4. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
shall, after the expiration of sixty days after the conclusion of
the drawing of any of said lotteries, proceed to pay on demand,
to the bearer of any ticket in said lottery which may have
drawn a prize, the amount of said prize, deducting therefrom
such discount as may be prescribed on prizes in the scheme of
said lotteries ; and the said commissioners after deducting all
the expenses of drawing said lottery, shall transmit an account
thereof to the governor and council, and upon the same being
approved and passed by the governor and council, the gaid com-
