ings of the general assemblies of Maryland, in the manner and
in the time directed by law ; and if the said printer, in case
he accepts thereof, shall refuse or neglect to enter bond as
aforesaid, such printer shall forfeit and pay the sum of one
hundred dollars current money for such refusal or neglect, to be
recovered and applied in the same manner as other penalties,
and shall moreover forfeit his salary as printer to the state.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted. That in case of the death of the
printer appointed by this act, or his refusal or neglect to enter
into the bond required by this act, during the recess of the
legislature, the governor and council shall proceed to the ap-
pointment of some other person to perform the duties required
of the printer appointed by this act.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That wherever the clerk of any county court in this state hath
died, or shall hereafter die, leaving in his office any deed or
deeds, or other paper or papers, other than judgments or pro-
ceedings in court, and which are required by law to be recorded,
and have not been entered in the record books as required by
law in the life-time of the clerk who received the same, it shall
be the duty of the clerk of such county, for the time being, to
record the same, as of the day on which the said deeds or other
papers shall appear by endorsement thereon to have been
received in the clerk's office to be recorded ; and the clerk who
shall so record the same shall affix thereto the name of the clerk
who received the same, and also his own name, and the said
deeds, and other papers, when so recorded, shall be of the same
force and effect as if the same had been duly recorded in the
record books on the day on which they were so received.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the clerk so recording the
said deed or deeds, or other papers, shall be entitled to the same
fees as are now allowed by law for similar services, to be paid
by the party at whose request the said deed or deeds, or other
papers, shall be recorded.
