CHAPTER 83.
AN ACT, entitled, A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT,* entitled, an Act declaring
what shall be evidence in certain cases therein mentioned.

Be it enacted^ by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
any copy taken from any of the books, papers, entries, and pro-
ceedings, which now are, or may be in possession of the regis-
ter of the land office, not being matter of record, and attested
by him, under the seal of his office, shall be received in evi-
dence in any court of law or equity, or before any judge or
other tribunal, in this state, in the same manner, and to have
the same effect, as if the original books, papers, entries or pro-
ceedings, were themselves produced, any thing in the said act
to which this is a supplement to the contrary notwithstanding.
CHAPTER 94.
AN ACT to provide for taking Special Bail in actions of trespass quare
clausum fregit.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That in
all actions of trespass quare clausum fregit, commenced after
the first day of February next, in any court of this state, it
shall and may be lawful for the court in which such action
shall be commenced, upon the affidavit of the plaintiff, or other
evidence, that the defendant or defendants are not citizens of
this state, or do not reside therein, to award special bail against
such defendant or defendants in such action, and for default of
such bail to commit such defendant or defendants to the custody
of the sheriff, until he, she or they, shall put in bail as in other
cases.

AN ACT recognizing the Coin of the United States, and the value of
foreign Coins as established by the acts of the Congress of the United

Preamble.

WHEREAS, by the eighth section of the first article of the
constitution of the United States, congress is empowered to
coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin,
and for carrying into effect the power given by the consti-
tution, congress has established a mint and regulated the coins
of the United States, and regulated foreign coins ; therefore,

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the species of coins which have been and which may be
struck at the mint of the United States, and the rates of foreign
