than five hundred acres, as they shall think most eligible, and
to the building thereon or repairing, if necessary, such bouse
or houses, as they shall think most suitable for the accommo-
dation of the poor of said county, and the balance, if any, to
pay over to the said levy court, for the use of the said county.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Wor-
cesrer county are hereby authorized and empowered, to levy
and assess on the assessable property of Worcester county, a
sufficient sum of money not exceeding four thousand dollars, to
satisfy and pay for any land or lands which shall or may be
purchased by the trustees of the poor of Worcester county,
agreeable to the provisions of the eleventh section of this act,
and the same to have levied and collected as other county

lars shall be levied and collected in any one year until the
whole sum is levied, collected and paid over to the trustees of
the poor or their order.

Proviso.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That any thing in the said ori-
ginal act to which this is a supplementary act, as relates to
Worcester county, which is repugnant to, or inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, shall be, and the same is hereby
repealed.
This law is modified as to place of meeting, by 1822, ch. 15.

AN ACT to repeal parts of the Acts of Assembly therein mentioned, and
for other purposes. — 1822, ch. 15.

Repeal.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all that part of the twentieth section of an act of assembly,
passed at May session, in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and sixty-eight, chapter twenty-nine, entitled,
an act for the relief of the poor of the several counties of this
state, which compels the trustees of the poor, or the overseer
of the poor, to place badges upon the shoulders of paupers re-
ceived into the poor-house, eo far as the same relates to Wor-
cester county, and all that part of the tenth section of an act of
assembly, passed at December session, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and twenty-one, chapter one hun-
dred and fifty-four, entitled, an act for the relief of the poor of
Worcester county, being supplementary to the act, entitled,
an act for the relief of the poor of the several counties of this
state, which compels the trustees of the poor of said county to
hold their meetings at the court-house of said county, be, and
the some are hereby repealed.

poor of Worcester county, shall meet at the poor-house of said
