WASHINGTON COUNTY.

act, or of the supplement thereto, shall be held at the alms-
bouse in the said county, except such meetings as may be ne-
cessary for the settlement and passing their accounts with the
levy court:

to clerk
for each
certificate.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the clerk of said court shall
be allowed twenty-five cents for each certificate of appoint-
ment which he shall make out and deliver to the sheriff; and
the sheriff shall be allowed fifty cents for the delivery of each
of the said certificates to the persons appointed, all of which
charges and allowances are to be levied, collected and paid
over, as other county charges are.

Repeal.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted. That any thing in the said ori-
ginal act, or the supplement thereto, which is repugnant to or
inconsistent with the provisions of this act, shall be and the
same is hereby repealed.

AN ACT to repeal an Act, entitled, an Act to authorize the Levy Court of
Washington County to levy a sum of Money for the purpose of pur-
chasing and providing a Farm for the better and more economical sup-
port of the Poor of Washington County, and for other purposes. — 1825,
ch. 134.

Repeal.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-four, chapter thirty-seven, entitled, an act to authorize
the levy court of Washington county to levy a sum of money
for the purpose of purchasing and providing a farm for the
better and more economical support of the poor of Washington
county, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be lawful
for the trustees of the poor in said county, and they are hereby
empowered to make allowances, of necessaries or of money to
out-door poor, whenever and to whatever amount the levy
court of said county may from time to time authorize, and in
their discretion deem expedient and necessary.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the levy court of the county
aforesaid be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered
to purchase such lot or lots contiguous or convenient to the
poor-house property of the said county, as they may think
expedient for the interest of said county, and for the more
comfortable and economical support of the poor, and to levy
on the assessable property of said county, such sum or sums of
