SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the clerk of said court
shall be allowed twenty-five cents for each certificate of ap-
pointment which he shall make out and deliver to the sheriff,
and the sheriff shall be allowed fifty cents for the delivery of
each of the said certificates to the persons appointed ; and each

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That any thing in the said ori-
ginal act, or the supplements thereto, which are repugnant to
or inconsistent with the provisions of this act, shall be and the
same is hereby repealed.

AN ACT to introduce the cultivation of the Mulberry, and the making of
Silk, at the Poor's-house in. Saint Mary's County .—1838, ch. 77.

Repeal.

WHEREAS, the growing of the mulberry and the making of
silk at the poor's-house in Saint Mary's county, would, it is
confidently believed, not only afford agreeable and healthful
employment to its inmates at a pleasant season of the year, but
would ultimately, under a judicious system of management,
aid greatly in defraying the expenses of that institution, and
also afford a means of giving to the poor children therein, the
blessing of education ; therefore,

Preamble.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners for Saint Mary's county, hereafter to
be elected in obedience to an act heretofore passed at the
December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, be, and
they are hereby required to levy upon the assessable property
of said county, the present year, the sum of one hundred and
ten dollars, to be collected and paid over to the trustees of the
poor for said county, to be by them expended agreeably to the
provisions contained in this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the trustees of the poor for
said county, be, and they are hereby required, as soon after
the passage of this act as practicable, to purchase on the best
possible terms, one hundred dollars worth of morus multi-
