PRINGE GEORGE'S COUNTY.

 

George's county, which is repugnant to or inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, shall be, and the same is hereby
repealed.

An ACT Supplementary to an Act for the relief of the Poor of Prince
George's County, passed December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-two, chapter one hundred and twenty-one — 1823, ch. 24.

Trustees'
meeting.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the annual meeting of the trustees of the poor for Prince
George's county, shall be on the first Monday in June ensuing
their appointment.

AN ACT to authorize the Trustees of the Alms-house in Prince George's
County to alter the lime of appointing an Overseer, and other Oflicers
and Servants of said Institution, and lor other purposes. — 1837, ch. 135.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the trustees of the alms-house in Prince George's county,
be, and they are hereby authorized to alter the time now fixed
by law for the election and appointment of an overseer, and
all other officers and servants attached to said institution ; and
that they have full power to appoint the same at any time they
may in their discretion think best and proper; Provided how.
ever, that all appointments made by the said trustees, in virtue

of this act, shall be annual appointments, unless lor good cause
it may be deemed proper, by the said trustees, to remove any
of said officers, which they may have power to do at any time.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
overseer of said alms-house to report, under oath annually, to
the levy court of said county, at the regular levy laying meet-
ing thereof, the number of days the said trustees may or shall
have attended at said alms-house, in the necessary discharge of
their duties ; whose duty it shall be thereupon, and they are

hereby required to levy, upon the assessable property of the
county, such sum or sums of money as may be sufficient to pay
to said trustees and each of them, as compensation for their
services, at the rate of two dollars a day for every day they
may or shall have attended at said alms-house, in the discharge

diem allowance shall be made to the said trustees for any num-
ber of days they may attend at said alms-house, exceeding two
days in any one mouth.

Repealing

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all acts of assembly which
are in any way inconsistent with this, be, and the same are
hereby repealed.
