ing from such sale, or sales, shall annually on the first day of
January in each and every year be returned on oath and paid
over to the levy court of said county, to be applied for the
benefit of said county.

 

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the trustees aforesaid, and
their successors in office, shall have full power, liberty and au-
thority, to make and establish such by-laws, orders and rules,
for the relief, regulation and labour of the poor, and for the good
government of the alms-house in said county, as to them shall
from time to time appear most fit and requisite, all which shall
be conformed to, and observed by the overseer and all under
his control, or the control of said trustees, under the penalties
therein contained; Provided always, that the said rules, by-
laws and orders, be in no way contrary to the laws of this state.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the trustees aforesaid, or a
majority of them, shall have full power and authority, at any
time after having made arrangements for the accommodation of
the poor as before prescribed, to sell and dispose of the present
alms-house of said county, and lot of ground thereunto attached,
and all its appurtenances, at public auction or otherwise, at
their discretion, for the best price which can be obtained, and
at a proper time after the sale is so made, to make and execute
a good and sufficient deed of bargain and sale to the purchaser
or purchasers, in fee simple.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the proceeds arising from
the sale of the present alms-house and premises, shall be ap-
plied to the payment of the purchase money of the lands and
premises, authorized in virtue of this law to he purchased.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That all acts of assembly, hereto-
fore passed for the relief and support of the poor of Kent
county, contrary to, or inconsistent with the provisions of this
act, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

indigent persons of said County. — 1827, ch. 39.

An additional SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act for the relief of
the Poor of Kent County, passed at November session, seventeen hun-
dred and eighty-seven, chapter eleven.— 1830, ch. 151.

Repeal

SF,C. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the office of the present trustees for the poor of Kent
county shall cease and be at an end on the second Monday of
April next, and that the appointment of trustees for tho poor
of said county from and after the first Monday of March next,
shall be vested in the levy court of said county.
