KENT COUNTY.
 

AN ACT to fix the compensation of Jurors in Kent County. — 1830, ch. 69.

Allowance
to jurors.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That each and every juror hereafter to be summoned on the
regular panel of jurors to Kent county court, shall be entitled
to receive, for each day which he shall attend as a juror, the
sum of one dollar and fifty-cents, and in addition thereto an
allowance of six and a quarter cents per mile, for every mile
that his place of residence shall be distant from the place of
holding the county court, to be levied, collected and paid, in
the same manner, and at the same time, with his per diem
allowance ; and he shall be entitled to receive mileage for each
day such juror shall attend the court.

Mileage.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing contained in the
aforegoing section shall be construed to allow any juror mileage
in returning to his residence during the time he shall attend
said county court.

LEVY COURT.
AN ACT to alter the mode of appointing the Levy Court of Kent County;
to provide for iheir election by the People, and 10 abolish the Board of
Commissioners of Tax in said County. — 1838, ch. 305.

SEC. I. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That on the first Wednesday in October, eighteen hundred
and thirty-nine, and for ever thereafter, the levy court of Kent
county shall be composed of five members, to be elected as
herein after provided for.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That on the first Wednesday in
October next, at the time and places of holding elections for
delegates to the general assembly of Maryland, in Kent county,
and under the direction and supervision of the judges appointed
to hold such elections, an election shall be held for the purpose
of choosing five persons to compose the levy court of said
county, whose term of service shall commence and end as
herein after provided for, and at every such election all per-
