Repeal.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That any law inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, be, and the same is hereby repealed.
A further SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act for the distribution of
a certain fund for the purpose of establishing Free Schools in the several
Counties therein mentioned, so far as relates to Plarford County. — 1832,
ch. 160.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it appears to this general assembly, from the re-
port of the orphans court of Harford county, that several of the
commissioners of the school fund, have not complied with the
directions of the supplement to the original act, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine, chapter
twenty-seven, which requires that the commissioners shall re-
turn an account of their expenditures to the orphans court, in
November every year ; and it also appears by said report that
the said commissioners have had constantly, considerable sums
of money in their hands unexpended, and without paying any
interest therefor, and there being no provision in any law to
authorize the court to call the said commissioners before them
for settlement, or have any control over the surplus money in
their hands ; therefore,

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be lawful for the orphans court of Harford county
to compel the commissioners of the school fund that have not
already settled up their accounts, to appear before them, and
give an account of their expenditures, otherwise charge them
with all the moneys that they have received, and not accounted
for, and that in the month of November in every year, they,
the said commissioners, shall make a return of all the moneys
expended by them, to the said court.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the orphans court shall be
capable of receiving donations from any individual or indivi-
duals that may gratuitously bestow them in support of the
