HARFORD COUNTY.

 

tricts, to the amount of such sum as may be allowed to such
overseer as his proportion of money for repairing and amending
the roads in his respective district, which orders the said col-
lectors are hereby directed to discharge by the payment of the
said orders in money, or discount the same in taxes, if any
such persons having such order may owe taxes, any thing in
the said original act to the contrary notwithstanding.
SEC. 4. Gives compensation to commissioners.

Duration.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall be and con-
tinue in force until the expiration of the said act to which this
is a supplement.
The said act was not limited in its duration.

AN ACT to authorize the Levy Court of Harford County to open certain
Roads.— 1823, ch. 78.

authorized.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Harford county, if they in their judg-
ment deem it expedient, be, and they are hereby authorized to
cause to be laid out and opened any road or roads which here
after may be applied for under a supplement to an act, enti-
tled, an act relating to public roads in the several counties
therein mentioned, passed at December session, 18:22, chapter
18, notwithstanding such road or roads may pass on the route
or bed laid out by the Baltimore and Harford Turnpike Com-
pany.

pany.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the assent of the president
and directors of said turnpike company, shall first be given to
opening such road or roads.

Remunera-
tion.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said company shall when
they turnpike such road, pay Harford county the full amount
of damages awarded to landholders, and also the sum of money
expended in opening such road.

Repeal.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That all and every act or acts of
assembly which are repugnant to, or inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this act be, and the same is hereby repealed.

SCHOOLS.
1816, ch. 256, ante page 654, distributes the fund.

A further SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act for the distribution
of a certain fund for the purpose of establishing Free Schools in the
several Counties therein mentioned. — 1829, ch. 27.
