Public
sale, bond.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the justices of the levy court
be, and they are hereby empowered and authorizedat their dis-
cretion, to sell the said ferries to the lowest bidder, or to make
any other contract relative to said fetries, which in their judg-
ment will best promote the public convenience; Provided
always, that the person or persons appointed to take chaige of
said ferries, shall give bond with security to the state of Mary-
land, to be approved by the levy court, for the due and faithful
performance of all such contracts ; said bond to be recorded in
the county court of said county, and a copy thereof, under the
seal of said court, to be as good and competent evidence in any
court in this state, as the original would be if produced and
proved.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of carrying
the piovisions of this act into effect, the levy court of said
county, be, and they are hereby requited and authorized to
assemble on or before the first Monday in April next.
AN ACT to alter the present manner of making the Levy, for the use of
the Public Ferries in Dorchester County. — 1834, ch 56.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the levy court of Dorchester county, be and they are hereby
required so to make the levy for the payment of the keepers of
the public fetries in said county, for the year eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-five, and annually thereafter, that the keepers
of said public ferries shall receive one-half of the amount to be
paid them, on the twentieth day of December next, ensuing
said contiact, and the residue of said sum on the expiration of
such contract ; Provided, that in no case shall any collectoi of
the public dues for said county be authorized to pay, to any
keeper of the public ferries, any money in advance.
