DORCHESTER COUNTY.

 

now allowed by law to the jurors of Dorchester county, for
each and every day they shall necessarily attend to the duties
of their office.

Suits
pending.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That all suits at law, or in
equity, which may be pending at the time of the passage of
this act, by or against the justices of the levy court of said
county, shall be carried on in like manner, and have the same
legal effect, either in favour of, or against the commissioners
provided for by this act, as if said suits had been instituted by
or against the said commissioneis.

Delivery
over of
books and
papers.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted. That the clerk of Dorchester
county court, acting as clerk to the justices of the levy court,
and the clerk to the commissioners of the tax, for said county,
are hereby directed and required, to deliver over to the clerk
of the county commissioners, appointed undei; the provibions
of this act, all the books and papers appertaining, or in any
way belonging to the levy court and commissioners of the tax
hereby abolished.

repealed.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted. That all laws inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act relating to the appointment
of Constables in this State, and for other purposes, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and twenty-four, chapter one hundred and
forty —1830, ch 132.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the first day of June next, it shall not be
lawful for the levy court of Dorchester county, to appoint more
than two constables in each election district in said county.

Repeal.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That so much of the act, entitled,
an act relating to the appointment of constables in this state,
and for other purposes, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty four, chapter one hundred and forty, as is
inconsistent with, or repugnant to, the provisions of this act,
be, and the same is hereby repealed.

CRIERS.
AN ACT to authorize the Justices of the Orphans and Levy Courts of
Dorchester County to appoint their respective Criers. — 1829, ch. 179.

Authority
granted.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the justices of the orphans and levy courts for Dorchester
county, respectively, be, and they are hereby authorized to
appoint their criers, from and after the first day of April next.

Levy; com-
pensation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the levy court for Dorches-
ter county is hereby authorized and directed to levy on the
assessable property of said county, annually, a sum of money
