FISH— FREE NEGROES— JURORS.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the act of December session,
eighteen hundred and twenty -six, chapter eighty-two, and the
act of December session eighteen hundred and twenty-seven,
chapter one hundred and fifty, be and the same are hereby
repealed.

FISH.
AN ACT to prevent the erection of Fish Dams, or other obstructions across
the Run at Alien's Fresh m Charles County.— 1825, ch. 140.

pealed.


WHEREAS, the levy court of Charles county has represented
to this general assembly, that a bridge has been built at consi-
derable cost and expense over Alien's Fresh run, in said
county, and that the safety and security of the said bridge is
much endangered by persons erecting fish dams above the said
bridge, the brush and other materials of which, in freshets are
washed down, and lodged against the pillars of the bridge,
thereby rendering it unsafe; therefore,
SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall not be law-
ful for any person or persons to erect any fish dam or other
obstiuctions in, or across Alien's Fresh run, above the bridge
at Alien's Fresh, in Charles county, which shall in any man-
ner endanger the safety and security of said bridge.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if any person or persons
shall violate this act, they shall forfeit and pay for every such
violation the sum of twenty dollars, to be recovered before any
justice of the peace of said county, one-half of which to go to
the informer, and the other half to the state.

AN ACT to provide for the more speedy payment of Jurors in Charles and
Kent Counties.-— 1826, ch. 117.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall be lawful
for the justices of the levy courts of Charles and Kent coun-
ties, and they are hereby authorized, to levy annually, one
year in advance, upon the assessable property of the said coun-
ties, such sums of money as the said justices may deem suffi-
cient to discharge all claims which may accrue for the atten-
dance of the jurymen for the two next succeeding terras of
the county courts of the said counties.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That a certificate signed by the
respective clerks of the county courts, expressing the number
