POOR.

bei of out-pensioners to twenty, in Caroline county, be, and
the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the justices of the levy
court of Caroline county, .be, and they are heieby authorized
and empowered, to levy on the assessable piopertj of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding four hundred dollars
annually, to be by the said justices of the levy court appor-
tioned out to such indigent individuals, as to them in their dis-
cretion may seem most to require the same.

AN ACT to alter and change the days of Meeting of the Trustees of the
Poor in Caroline County — 1829, ch 191.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all such parts of an act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and seventeen, chapter one hundred and
two, as directs the meetings of the trustees of the poor of
Caroline county, on the first Monday in April and July, and
the second Monday of October, also that part of the seventh
section of said act, as directs and requires the aforesaid trus-
tees, or a majority of them, to meet together between the first
and tenth day of April, in each and every year, to appoint a
fit person to be overseer, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the said trustees of the poor,
in lieu of meeting on said first Monday of April and July, and

second Monday of October, shall hereafter meet at the alms
or poor's-house, in the said county, annually, on the fourth
Monday in March, on which day, they, or a majority of them,
shall appoint a fit and suitable person to be overseer of said
alms or poor's-house, and such other proper officers and ser-
vants as to them shall appear necessary ; and shall also meet on
the third Monday in July and fourth Monday of October, and
on the second Monday in January, in each and every year,

A further SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act for the relief of the
Poor of Caroline County.—1831, ch 226.

 

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, that all vacancies
that may take place in the present board of trustees of the poor
in said county, either by death or removal out of the county,
resignation, or becoming incapable to act as such, shall be filled
and appointed by the executive of this state.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all such parts of the act, to
which this is a further additional supplement, that are repug-
nant to, or inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be, and
the same are hereby repealed.
