BALTIMORE COUNTY.

 

court of said county annually, and another such estimate of the
expenses of the persons sent to said poor-house by the mana-
gers of the wards, including the paupers and pensioners of the
city, distinctly from the county, who shall then be in the said
poor-house, or supported as out-pensioners thereof, which last
estimate they shall deliver to the mayor and city council of
Baltimore annually, and in which estimates the said trustees
shall carry forward all excess or deficiencies of the preceding
years, if any there be, so that the future expenses shall be
apportioned between the county and city, according to their
number of paupers and pensioners respectively, as near as
may be.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Baltimore
county, and the mayor and the city council of Baltimore, shall
levy the amounts of the above estimates respectively ; that is to
say, of the first mentioned estimate on the property of Balti-
more county, exclusive of the city, and of the last mentioned
estimate on the property in the city of Baltimoie exclusively,
as the charges of the city court are now levied, annually here-
after, and pay, or cause the same to be paid, to the trustees
aforesaid, between the first day of May and the first day of
October in each and every year if required,

AN ACT to incorporate the Trustees for the Poor of Baltimore City and
County —1822, ch. 167.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That there shall be annually appointed seven trustees for the
poor of Baltimore city and county, four of whom shall be resi-
dents in the city of Baltimore, and shall be appointed by the
mayor and city council of Baltimore in the same manner as
officers under the corporation are appointed ; and the other
three shall be residents in Baltimore county, out of the said
city, and shall be appointed by the governor and council, and
all vacancies that shall occur shall be filled by appointments to
be made in the same manner ; and the said seven trustees and
their successors to be appointed as aforesaid, shall be and they
ate hereby incorporated and constituted a body politic and cor-
porate, by the name, style and title of The Trustees for the
Poor of Baltimore City and County, and by that name shall
have perpetual succession, and shall be capable in law to sue
and be sued, to plead and be impleaded, in any court of law or
equity, or before any judge or justice, to purchase, take, re-
ceive, possess, hold, use or sell, convey and deliver all kinds
of lands, tenements, estates, property and effects, leal, personal
and mixed, to have and use a common seal, and the same at
their pleasure to break, alter or renew, and to exercise all the
powers, authorities and privileges granted to or vested in them
