binding in like manner, as any acknowledgment of special bail
duly entered in open court in an action there pending; and on
entering such special bail and paying to the clerk the same tax
as for an original writ, which tax shall be accounted for and
paid over by the said clerk in the manner provided for by the
act to which this is a supplement; it shall be the duty of the
clerk to issue the writ of certiorari without requiring the seal of
a judge, and the clerk shall docket every action so removed, on
the same docket as appeals from the judgments of justices of
the peace ; and at the time of issuing every writ Of certiorari, the
clerk shall issue a subpoena directed, and giving notice to the
other party or parties named in such writ, as in cases of appeal ;
and the proceedings in each case so removed may be similar,
in every respect to those authorized by law in appeal cases;
subject nevertheless to such rules as shall be adopted from time
to time by the court.

SEC. 8. Repealed by 1834, ch. 211, sec. 2, and 1834, ch. 233, sec 2.

A SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act for the despatch of Business
in Baltimore County Court.— 1830, ch. 1-69.

 

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland \
That from and after the thirteenth day of April next, there
shall be in each and every year four city terms of Baltimore
county court, instead of eight, as required by the third section
of the act to which this is a supplement.

to bo held.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the terms of said court, as
provided by this act, shall be held as follows, that is to say, the
first day of May shall be the commencement of the first term ;
the first day of September shall commence the second term;
the first day of December shall commence the third term ; and
the first day of January shall commence the fourth term; unless
either of those days shall happen on Sunday, in which case the
term shall commence on the next day; and the judges of the
said court, or a majority of them, are hereby authorized and re-
quired, to pass all such rtiles as may be necessary and proper
for carrying into effect the provisions of this act.
The December term is abolished by 1832, ch. 203.

When to be-
held.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That no persoh shall be required
to serve more than twenty-one days in any one year, as
a juryman, in the said court, for the transaction of city
business, except it be in a case where a jury has been em-
panelled and sworn within the said time, and a verdict has
not been rendered by such jury, and if any person, so haying
served twenty-one days shall be returned by the sheriff of
Baltimore county upon any panel of jurors summoned by him,
