SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in all cases as before men-
tioned, each party shall have the right of appeal to Baltimore
county court.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the said commissioners
shall, at their discretion, have power to increase the compensa-
tion allowed to labourers employed by supervisors to work on
any' of the public roads in said county, to any amount not ex-
ceeding seventy-five cents per day; Provided, that no such
increase shall be allowed to any slave or slaves employed as
aforesaid ; And provided, the said compensation be equal and
uniform amongst all the supervisors of said county, any law,
custom or usage to the contrary notwithstanding.

for Baltimore County, and prescribing their Powers and Duties, passed
.at December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-six, chapter two
hundred and seventeen. — 1837, ch. 336.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the grand inquest
for all that part of Baltimore county, not included within the
limits of the city of Baltimore, may, annually, at their Novem-
ber term for Baltimore county court, select and appoint five
members from their own body, to examine into the accounts of

the treasurer of said county, and publish a minute statement of
all transactions connected with this department of the board of
commissioners; stating the amount of moneys received, from
what source, and for what purpose paid, in three of the publie
newspapers printed in the city of Baltimore, and not less than
two insertions to be given in each paper.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of said
county shall publish, annually, a correct statement of the aggre-
gate amount of levy made, giving a list of each and every par-
ticular appropriation and purpose for which said levy was made,
and cause a copy of true same to be put up in every election dis-
trict in said county, at the several houses at which the annual
elections are held, and at least ten days prior to such elections.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the treasurer of said county
shall prepare and publish, on or before the first day of Septem-
ber, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, a correct statement of
the amount of moneys paid over to the treasurer of said county,
by the treasurer of the levy court, at the lime of the dissolution
of the levy court, with all the liabilities existing at that time;
and that the treasurer of said county also publish, at the same
time, the amount of receipts and disbursements annually,
since the organization of the board of commissioners, with
the amount of available funds on hand at the times designated
above.
