BALTIMORE COUNTY.

 

moneys which shall come to his hands or care as treasurer, to
such persons, and in such manner, as the commissioners of
Baltimore county, or a majority of them, shall direct, and that
he will keep and enter full and fair accounts of all moneys re-
ceived and paid by him, and of all matters relating to his duties
and office, and preserve the same, and all vouchers relating
thereto, and deliver up all the books, vouchers, papers and
accounts, relating to his said duties and office, when thereto
required by the said commissioners, to such persons as they
shall appoint to receive the same; and the said treasurer shall
hold his office during the pleasure of the commissioners, and
shall receive such compensation, not exceeding six hundred
dollars per annum, as the commissioners shall think proper to
allow.

Clerk to be
appointed.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted. That the commissioners for Bal-
timore county shall appoint a clerk to attend at their meetings,
make minutes of, and record all their proceedings, and perform
such other duties as they shall from time to time require ; he
shall be removable from office at their pleasure, and receive
such compensation as they shall deem just, not exceeding two
dollars per day for his attendance and services.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the commissioners for Bal-
timore county aforesaid, shall be entitled to meet and transact
business in the same room in the court-house, in the city of
Baltimore, which is now used by the levy court of Baltimore
county; and they shall be entitled to receive into their care
and charge all the books, records and papers, of the said levy
court, and all moneys, books of accounts, vouchers and other
papers, in the possession of the treasurer acting under the said
levy court, when the commissioners shall be qualified to act as
herein before provided ; and each of the said commissioners
shall be entitled to receive two dollars per day for every day he
shall necessarily attend to tho duties of his office, and ten cents
per mile for necessary travelling from his usual residence to
Baltimore, or elsewhere, in attending to his duties as commis-
sioner.
