SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That the act entitled an addi-
tional supplement to an act for the better regulation of the
militia of the city of Baltimore, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and twenty-five, chapter two hundred and
eighteen, and the twentieth section of act of December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-five, chapter two hundred and
ninety -five, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That nothing in the act of
December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-four, chapter two
hundred and fifty-one, entitled, an act to enrol, organize, equip
and regulate the militia of this state, or in any supplement
thereto, shall be construed to repeal any act, or part of an act,
relating to the militia of the city of Baltimore, nor shall any
part of said act of eighteen hundred and thirty-four, chapter
two hundred and fifty-one, or any part of any supplement
thereto, be construed to extend to the city of Baltimore.

Relative to
uniform.
|
SEC. 19. And be it enacted, That the field and stuff officers
of the fifty-third regiment of volunteer infantry, be and they
are hereby authorized, so to alter their uniforms, as now pre-
scribed by law, as to make the same in their judgment, pro-
perly Conformable to the uniforms of the company officers
generally, of the said regiment; Provided, that no such altera-
tion shall be made without the apprqval, in writing, of the
brigadier-general of the brigade, to which the said regiment is
attached.

Regiment
ef artillery.

SEC. 20. And be it enacted, That the first light brigade of
Maryland volunteers may be, and they are hereby authorized to
raise a regiment of artillery to be attached to, and form a part
of said brigade, and the said regiment shall be subject to the
same laws and regulations as the other regiments composing
said brigade.

SEC. 1 . Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the mortgagee or mortgagees of any interest or estate,
hereafter to be created, in lands and tenements, lying within
the city of Baltimore, or in any part of Baltimore county, and
his, her or (heir heirs, executors, administrators, or assigns, or
his, her or their duly authorized attorney, agent or trustee, ap-
pointed for that purpose, may and shall be authorized, on the
failure to pay the debt or sum of money, including principal
and interest, secured by the mortgage of such estate or interest,
