A further additional SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to regu-

 

late the Inspection of Salted Fish. — 1820, ch. 196.

A further SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to regulate the Inspec-

tion of Sa|ted Fish.—182l, ch.221.

 

SEC. 1. Power of appointment transferred to the corporation, and merged

 

in 1826, ch. 137.

Repeal

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all such parts of the said

 

original act and the several supplements thereto, so far as they

AN ACT relating to the Inspection of Salted Fish in the City of Baltimore,

 

1822, ch. 181.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, U appears by an ordinance passed in eighteen

 

hundred and twenty-one, by the mayor and city council of Bal-

 

timore, that the landing and storage of fis>h in any warehouse

 

in the city convenient to market, is prohibited ; therefore,

SEC. 1 . Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be lawful for any owner or owners of fish, to land

 

any number of barrels on any public wharf in the city of Bal-

 

timore), for inspection, sale or exportation, except between the

 

first day of May and the first day of November, in each year ;

 

Provided, the owner or owners pay the wharfage which may

 

be incurred, to the owners or proprietors of the said wharf or

 

wharves, any law, custom, or ordinance to the contrary not-

 

withstanding.

Exception,

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That when fish are landed at the

warehouse for inspection, that it shall be the duty of the inspec-

 

tor to give a receipt for the number of barrels of fish, as soon as

 

inspected and coopered ; and it shall not be lawful for the in-

 

spector to charge for one month's storage or the hire of a

 

scow ; Provided, the owner or owners demand their removal to

 

the city of Baltimore before three o'clock of the same day they

 

were landed, or if the said owner or owners choose to take

 

their barrels of fish in their own or any other vessel, on the day

 

they are inspected, before five o'clock ; any law or ordinance to

 

the contrary notwithstanding.
