A SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act for the benefit of the several

Free Schools in the City and Precincts of Baltimore, passed December
|

session, eighteen hundred and fourteen, chapter one hundred and thirty-

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
|
Funds

all funds arising under the provisions of the act, to which this
|
arising from
intestate

is a supplement, from the personal estate of any person who

city of Baltimore, the justices of the orphans court of Baltimore

HACKNEY COACHES.
|
|
AN ACT to regulate the Charges for the use of Hackney Carriages in the
|
|
City of Baltimore.— 1836, ch. 285.
|
|
SEC. I. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|

That every carriage, coach, or other vehicle, moved by horses,
|

or other animal power, which shall be used for the conveyance

of persons within the city of Baltimore, for hire or compensa-
|
|
tion, shall be deemed a hackney carriage within the meaning of
|
|
this act.
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That every owner of a hackney
|

carriage, who shall have obtained a license therefor as required

by the present or any future ordinances of the mayor and city

council of Baltimore, shall be authorized and entitled, during
|
|
the time in such license specified, to charge, ask and receive as

fare and compensation, and hire, and no more, to be fixed and
|
|
determined by virtue of this act.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the mayor of the city of
