ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY.

 

court of Anne Arundel, by the act to which this is a supplement,

 

passed at November session, seventeen hundred and ninety-one,

 

and that after the passage of this act, the powers of the said

 

county court with regard to making contracts for keeping public

 

ferries at the county expense is hereby abrogated and made

 

void.

AN ACT to protect the breed of Fish in Anne Arundel County.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall not be law-
ful for any person or persons to use in the rivers or waters of
said county any seines or nets, the meshes of which shall be less

 

than one inch and a quarter square, except such seines or nets as

 

do not exceed ten fathoms in length.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if any person or persons,

using them.

shall after the passage of this act, use or haul in the rivers or

 

waters of the county aforesaid, any seine or net, exceeding the

 

length aforesaid, the meshes of which shall be less than one

 

inch and a quarter square, such person or persons so offending,

 

shall forfeit and pay, for each and every offence, the sum of

 

twenty dollars, to be recovered in the name of the state before

 

any justice of the peace, as other small debts are recovered, one-

 

half to the use of the informer, and the other half to the use of

 

the state, any act to the contrary notwithstanding.

SEC. I. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Anne Arundel county, be, and they are
hereby authorized and required, annually to levy on the assess-
able property in said county, a sum of money not exceeding
fifteen hundred dollars, to be applied to the payment and dis-
charge of the expenses incurred by the attendance of jurymen

 

at Anne Arundel county court.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said sum of money, when
so levied and collected, shall, by the said justices, be deposited
