CHAPTER 337.

 

AN ACT relating to the Armories of this State.

 

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That

the governor be, and he is hereby authorized, at such times as

the neighbourhood of each of the Armories of this state, whose

 

duty it shall be to make out and return to the secretary of state,

 

an accurate inventory of the arms, ammunition and other public

 

property therein, together with the condition and value of said

 

arms, &c. and the persons so employed, shall be entitled to two

 

dollars each, for every day while they shall be actually engaged

 

on the duty aforesaid.

 

CHAPTER 361.

 

AN ACT requiring the Sheriffs of the several Counties of this State to

 

serve separately each writ of capias ad respondendum, in their respec-

 

tive hands against the same Defendant, where the said writs are return-

 

able to the same term.

 

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this general assembly,

by the facilities of escape, afforded to slaves by means of rail

 

roads and steamboats ; therefore, for remedy of said evil,

 

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
