Judgments
of court.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That in all cases wherein judg-
ment shall be rendered in the county courts of this state, at the
second term after the defendant or defendants shall have been
arrested on the capias ad respondendum, under the act, entitled,
an act to prevent unnecessary accumulation of costs on all
actions or suits at law, in the county courts of this state, and
its supplements, and the same shall be superseded, that the stay
of execution as allowed by law under such supersedeas, shall
be reckoned and computed from the first Thursday of the terra
next ensuing the said second term, when such judgment shall
be rendered, and not from the date or filing of such super-
sedeas.

CHAPTER 141.
AN ACT to continue in force the Acts of Assembly, which would expire
with the present session of the General Assembly.

Se it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all such acts or parts of acts, as would expire with the present
session of the general assembly, be, and the same are hereby
re-enacted and continued in force to the last Monday of Decem-
ber next, and to the end of the session of the general assembly
thereafter.

CHAPTER 160.
|

A further additional SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act relating to
the People of Colour in this State, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and eighty-one.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the time prescribed by the act of eighteen hundred and
thirty-two, chapter three hundred and sixteen, for paying into
the treasury the tax directed to be levied by the act of eighteen
hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and eighty-one,
entitled, an act relating to the people of colour in this state, be,
for the year eighteen hundred and thirty-five, extended to the
first day of July, eighteen hundred and thirty-six.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the like tax to bo hereafter
levied for every future year, shall be paid into the treasury on
or before the first day of July, in the year succeeding the year
for which it shall have been levied.

CHAPTER 161.
AN ACT to repeal an Act, passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and thirty-three, chapter one hundred and eleven.
