infant has or shall have been appointed by any orphans court
of this state whose appointment however, has been or shall
have been irregularly made, or is or shall be liable to be
revoked or declared void for any cause whatsoever, but is
not or shall not have been revoked or declared void, any pay-
ment or delivery to such guardian of such legacy, distributive
share, or personal property by such executor or administrator

shall have the same force, validity, and effect as respects such
executor or administrator as if said guardian's appointment were
regularly made, and not for any cause liable to be revoked or
declared void.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That every such guardian, so
receiving money or other property as aforesaid, belonging to his
or her ward, shall be liable to account for the same, to be re-
covered by suit on his or her guardian bond, or otherwise, as
now provided for by law, in case of guardians duly and regu-
larly appointed.

CHAPTER 64.

AN ACT to provide for the Cession of the Territorial Jurisdiction of this
Slate, over certain land on Love Point, in Queen Anne's County, to the
United States, for the erection of a Light-House thereon.

 

WHEREAS, it is believed that the convenience of the citizens
of this state, and others navigating the Chesapeake bay, would
be greatly promoted and their interests and property better pro-
tected, by the erection of a light-house, on Love Point, in Queen
Anne's county; and the people immediately interested therein,
have determined to apply to the congress of the United States,
for the passage of an act for that purpose ; therefore,
SEC. 1, 3, 4, 5, 6. Regulate the mode of proceeding by the commis-
sioners.

Preamble.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the United States upon the
payment to the proprietor or proprietors of the amount or value,
which may be ascertained and assessed by the said commis-
sioners, or by the appellate tribunal herein after provided for (as
the case may be) shall thence forward be considered the true
and lawful owners of the said land, and of the right and privi-
lege of a way thereto ; and thereupon the right of jurisdiction
of the state of Maryland, in and over the land aforesaid, shall be
and the same is hereby relinquished, ceded and made over to
the United States for the purpose aforesaid.
