CHAPTER 84.
A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act to regulate the sales of Real
Estate, by Collectors of Taxes in the several Counties and Cities of the
State, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty- one,
chapter ninety-nine.

 

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall and may be
lawful for the levy courts or commissioners of the several coun-
ties of this state, where there are or shall be no commissioners

more county which is out of the limits of the city of Baltimore,)
to exercise the same powers and perform the same duties that
are now exercised and performed by, or prescribed to, commis-
sioners of the tax, under the act to which this is a supplement.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That where any collector or
collectors of tax have made reports of their proceedings under
the act to which this is a supplement, to the levy courts of any
of the several counties of this state, in which there are no com-

missioners of tax, that the said levy courts are hereby autho-
rized and required to perform those duties which are assigned
to commissioners of the tax, under the act to which this is a
supplement, and their proceedings in the case shall have the
same force and virtue in law as if those powers had been con-
ferred on them by the aforesaid act.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That from and after the passage
of this act, all moneys intended for the redemption of land
under the act to which this is a supplement, shall be payable
only to the collector or collectors of tax.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That where any moneys may
have been paid, or hereafter may be paid into the hands of col-
lectors on account of lands sold for tax, for the purpose of
redeeming the same, they are hereby required immediately to
pay over the said moneys to the person or persons (or their
legal representatives) for whose use the same was intended.

CHAPTER 111.
A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, 'an Act to provide for taking Tes-
timony in Civil Cases,' passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and twenty-eight, chapter one hundred and sixty-five.

 

WHEREAS, no provision is made by the act to which this is a
supplement, for the appointment of a guardian to a minor inte-
rested in the testimony to be taken, if such minor hath not a
guardian ; therefore,

SEC.1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That if any minor shall be interested as aforesaid, who hath
not a guardian, then the county court of the district where such
minor shall reside, or either of the judges thereof, in the vaca-
