APPENDIX. 201
our commissary general and judge for probate
of wills &c. at our prerogative court to be held
at the city of Annapolis, on the second Tuesday
of
then next, to answer unto us as
well touching a certain contempt by him against
us committed, in not obeying the former process
of our said court, as to shew cause why he did
not &c.
You did then return to our
said judge, that you had taken the body of the
said C. D. and that he was detained in your
prison, under your custody at the county aforesaid,
but so sick and languishing, that without
great danger of death you could not have
his body then before our said judge, as by the
said writ you was commanded; and whereas it
was testified in our said court by worthy testimony,
that the aforesaid C. D. is sound and in
health, and able to travel, we do therefore
command you that you bring the body of the
said C. D. with you, whether he be in health
or infirm, before our said judge at our said court,
to be held at the city of Annapolis, on the
second Tuesday of
next, to shew cause
and answer as aforesaid: hereof fail not at
your peril, and have you then and there
this writ. Witness &c. |
