CONSTITUTIONAL REVISION STUDY DOCUMENTSHead: Chairman selected by the Board.

Members: 10 employees. 9 are appointed by the governor as follows:
5 must be active farmers from each of five designated areas
of the State; 2 must be active farmers representing the State
at large; and 2 must represent businesses or services directly
related to agriculture. The tenth member, designated by the
State Board of Agriculture, serves ex officio and without vote.

Term: 3 years, staggered.

Removal: Not statutory provision.

Employees: Board appoints secretary, clerks, and clerical help.

Function: To formulate proposals for the advancement of Maryland
agriculture and serve as an advisory body to the State Board
of Agriculture (the Board of Regents).
