848 EXECUTIVE PROCEEDINGS

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

The Senate advised and consented to the nomination of
Basil D. Sollers, as Inspector of Fire Wood at Baltimore
city.

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

The Senate advised and consented to the nomination of
Wm. Rain, as Inspector and Corder of Fire Wood at Balti-
more city.

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

The Senate advised and consented to the nomination of T.
Nelson Foster, as State Wharfinger in Baltimore city.

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

The Senate advised and consented to the nomination of
John W. Horn, as Warden of the Maryland Penitentiary.

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

The Senate advised and consented to the nomination of J.
Frank Brown, as Notary Public in Baltimore city.

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

The Senate advised and consented to the nominations of
John Hurst, John Coates, George R. Berry, Joshua Vansant,
John T. Ford and William Devries, as Directors of the Mary-
land Penitentiary.

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

The Senate refused to advise and consent to the nomina-
tion of William McPhail, as Notary Public at Baltimore city.'

Mr. Kimmel moved to reconsider the vote by which the
nomination of John Hurst was confirmed;

Determined in the affirmative;
On motion by Mr. Vickers,

The Senate advised and consented to the nomination of John
Hurst, as one of the Directors of the Maryland Penitentiary.

Mr. Vickers submitted the following :

Resolved, That the Governor be requested to re-nominate
to the Senate as Inspector General of Grain, Benjamin F.
May;

The question on the adoption of the order,

Was determined in the negative by yeas and nays as
follow :

Mackall,
