Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of 95 citizens and mer-
cantile firms of Washington city, D. C., praying the General
Assembly not to modify, amend or repeal the charter of the
Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of Henry Addison,
Mayor of Georgetown, and 28 business firms of that city,
praying the General Assembly not to modify, repeal or amend
the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Stephenson presented the memorial of Methodist Cler-
gymen in Baltimore city, against any change of the Sabbath
Law;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion of Mr. Brodwater,

Leave was granted, to withdraw from the Committee on
Corporations, to which was referred a memorial of 35 citizens
of Worcester county, against applying any money appropria-
ted to works of internal improvement in Worcester county, to
works of internal improvement in Somerset county.

On motion of Mr. Mules,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Carrol Fire Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Sterling,

Leave was granted to Committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the St. Georges' Society of Balti-
more.

On motion of Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to report a
bill to appropriate a certain sum of money, to pay costs re-
coverable from the State in cases of State of Maryland, vs.
John Hartly, surviving, obligor of James Twiggs and others,
and in the case of the State of Maryland vs. Jonathan Hen-
drickson and others.

On motion of Mr. Ohr,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to provide for the codification of the
laws, and remodelling of the Code of Public General Laws
and Public Local Laws.

Mr. Vickers, from the Select Committee, reported a bill
entitled An Act, to change the name of Benjamin Edes Long;
