On motion of Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceer -
ings to report a bill entitled, an Act to authorize Thomas J.
White and others, of Howard county, to convey a certain
house and land to Joseph Blew and others.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered a bill en-
titled An Act to repeal the Act of 1862, Chapter 106, relating
to sentence of negroes,

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Corporations, reported
a bill entitled An Act to incorporate the village of the Head
of Sassafrass, in Kent county, Maryland, by the name of
Sassafrass,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Corporations, reported
a bill entitled An Act to amend the Act of 1856, Chapter
257, entitled an additional supplement to the act, entitled
An Act, incorporating the Master and Wardens of Clinton
Lodge, No. 83, of the Free and Accepted Masons,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Corporations reported
a bill entitled An Act to incorporate the Westminster Gas
Light Company,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings
reported a bill entitled An Act to amend and re-enact Section
268 of Article 93, of Public General Laws, relating to Regis-
ters of Wills;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill, entitled An Act, to repeal the 1st Section of
Article 43, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Ha-
beas Corpus," and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill entitled An Act to make valid Indentures and
Contracts of apprenticeship executed since the 1st day of Jan-
uary, 1855,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably the bill entitled An Act, to incorporate the Chester
Fruit Packing Company,

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Earle from the Committee on Finance, reported a bill,
