The bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Maddox moved a call of the Senate,

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors that their attendance was required in the Senate Cham-
ber.

On motion by Mr. Earle,
Farther proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Mr. Earle moved that the rules be suspended to order said
bill to be engrossed for a third reading,

On the question being put, it was

Mr. Trail gave notice that he would within the time
allowed by the rules of the Senate move a reconsideration of
the vote by which the bill entitled, an Act to repeal the first
section of an Act to provide for the general valuation and
assessment of property in this State, chapter 137, passed
February 5, 1866, and re-enact the same with amendments;

The President announced the order of the day being the
bill entitled, an Act to repeal article 63, Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws relating to Militia, and section 632 to 770 both in-
clusive of article 4, Code of Public Local Laws relating to
militia in the city of Baltimore, and to re-enact said article
63 with amendments;

Mr. Stephenson moved to reconsider the vote by which the
amendment striking out the word "five" and inserting the
word "three" was adopted.

On the question being put, it was
