The Senate adjourned until to-morrow morning at 11
o'clock, M.

FRIDAY, January 18th, 1867.

Thomas J. Mules, Assistant Post Master, appeared, quali-
fied and entered upon the discharge of his duties.

Mr. Bowie presented the petition of Henry H. Pfeiffer, to
be refunded money paid into the State Treasury;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion of Mr. Mackall, it was

Ordered, That George Gale, Post Master of the Senate,
have leave of absence for one week.

On motion of Mr. Holton, it was,

Ordered, That the Executive of the State of Maryland, be
requested to communicate to the Senate all information in his
possession, including correspondence with the President of the
United States, Gen'l Grant and Gen'l Canby, relative to the
election held in this State, in November last; also, all the in-
formation in his possession relative to the threatened interfer-
ence of the United States authorities in the removal of the
Police Commissioners of Baltimore city; also, all information
in his possession in relation to the threatened interferenee by
non-residents of this State, not in official position in the af-
fairs of this State.

On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
