No banking
privileges.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act contained shall be so construed as to confer
any banking privileges on the said corporation or
the right to issue any note in the nature of & bank
note, and the General Assembly heroic reserves
to itself the right to alter, amend, or repeal this
Act at pleasure.

In force.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT entitled an Act to incorporate the Na-
tional Telegraphic Union Association.

Incorpora-
tion.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That J. C. Upham, of Boston, Massa-
chusetts; F. G. Churchill, of La Porte, Indiana ;
A. L. Wllipple. of Albany, New York; J. G.
Riley, of Baltimore, Maryland; G. C. Maynard,
of Washington, District of Columbia; H. W.
Wheeler, of Boston, Massachusetts; W. H. Kelty,
of Frederick, Maryland; P. A. Steadham, of Balti-
more, Maryland, and A. K.V. Hull, of Cumberland,
Maryland, and their associates and successors, are
hereby constituted a body corporate and politic,
by the name of the " National Telegraphic Union
Association," and to be located in the City of Bal-
timore, and by its corporate name shall have per-
petual succession, with power to sue and be sued,
plead and be impleaded in any court of law or
equity of competent jurisdiction, and may have
and use a common seal, and the same to change at
pleasure, and be entitled to use and exercise all the
powers, rights and privileges incident to such cor-
poration, receive gifts, subscriptions and benefits,
and to make such rules and by-laws as shall be
necessary and expedient for the government of the
association, and the same to alter from time to
time in such mode as shall by the association be
