822 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Abraham Scott, Levi K. Bowen, Joseph M. Fru-
ble, Evan Davis, Richard Johns, John Scott,
Taylor Albert, John Bosley, of William, Thomas
S. Worthington, J. O. Price, Otho Shipley and
Edward, P. Philpot be, and they are hereby,
appointed Commissioners to open books for sub-
scription to the capital stock of the "Western
Run Turnpike Company," to be made from Texas
over the bed of the County road, via Oregon Fur-
nace or from the point of intersection of the Balti-
more and York Turnpike Road and Oregon Fur-
nace Road, over said County Road to Oregon Fur-
nace, thence by way of Scott's Mills and Davis-
ville to Blackrock Church, and they are hereby
created a body-politic and corporate, to make and
construct a turnpike road over the County road
from Texas, via Beaver Dam, Oregon Furnace,
Scott's Mills and Davisville to Blackrock Church.

Capital stock.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That subscription
books shall be opened by and under the direction
of the above-named Commissioners at such time
and place as they may indicate by published no-
tice for subscriptions to the capital stock of the
said Turnpike Company, which capital shall con-
sist of twenty thousand dollars, in shares of ten
dollars each.

Directors.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That when one-third
or more of the shares of said stock shall be sub-
scribed for, and one dollar per share having been
paid at the time of subscription, said Commission-
ers shall give notice in one or more newspapers
published in Baltimore County, for the subscrib-
ers to meet and organize a Company, and to chose
by ballot from among themselves by a majority
of votes, either in person or by proxy, seven Direc-
tors to manage the affairs of said Company, until
their successors shall be chosen. Every stock-
holder in such election shall be entitled to one
vote for each and every share of stock held by him
or her at the time of said election.

Incorpora-
tion.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted. That the subscribers
of said stock shall be, and they are hereby-incor-
porated and constituted a body-politic, by the
name and style of the Western Run Turnpike
Company, and by said name they and their suc-
cessors and assigns shall have all the powers and
