AN ACT entitled, an Act supplementary to an
Act passed February six, eighteen hundred and
sixty-six, chapter one hundred and forty-four
entitled an Act to repeal the first section of the
Act of eighteen hundred and sixty-five, chapter
eighty-seven, and to amend and re-enact sections
fifty-five, fifty-nine and sixty of the second Ar-
ticle of the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne
Arundel county relating to the sale of spiritous
and fermented liquors to minors in the city of
Annapolis and within five miles thereof, and to
re-enact with amendments section fifty-five. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
of Maryland, That the fifty-fifth section of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel
county relating to the sale of spiritous and fer-
mented liquors to minors in the city of Annapolis
and within five miles thereof, as amended by the
Act of eighteen hundred and sixty-six, chapter
one hundred and forty-four, be and the same is
hereby further amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows: |

Sec. 55. It shall not be lawful for any person,
whether licensed to sell spiritous liquors or not, to
sell, dispose of, barter or give, directly or indi-
rectly, within the corporate limits of the city of
Annapolis or within five miles thereof, any spir-
itous or fermented liquors or cordials of any kind,
or in any quantity whatever, to any youth or
minor under the age of twenty-one years without
the written order of the parent or guardian of such
minor, nor to any midshipman or student connected
with or attached to the Naval Academy at Anna-
polis or under orders to join or leave the said Aca-
demy, nor to any seaman, ordinary seaman, lands-
man, marine or boy, or any employee of the navy
without a written order from a commissioned offi-
cer of the navy, not including hired laborers, nor
to any student of St. John's College; and any
person violating the provisions of this section shall |
