made in all respects in like manner and subject to
like confirmation by the Senate, as is now by law
required in the appointment of Inspectors of Hay
and Straw in the City of Baltimore: and said
scales shall be used for the same purposes as the
scales now established in the western section of
said City are used for, and shall be subject to the
same regulations. And the Inspector hereby
authorized to bo appointed and the Inspector of
the Western Scales now in operation shall, from
the time that first-named Inspector shall enter
upon the duties of his office, severally account for
under oath, and pay over to the Treasurer quar- |

terly, all money received by them as Inspectors,
after receiving for their services three-fourths of
all monies received by them for weighing and
inspecting Hay and Straw, and one-fifth of all
money received by them for weighing Hemp,
Cable, Anchors, Dye-Woods, Bark, Roots etc.;
and so much of the Act of eighteen hundred and
sixty-four, chapter three hundred and eighty-four,
as authorized the appointment of an Assistant to
the Inspector of the Western Hay Scales is hereby
repealed. |

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Baltimore
Chrome Mining and Manufacturing Company
by empowering the said Company to increase
its capital stock, or to make calls or assessments
upon the present capital stock. |

of Maryland, That the Baltimore Chrome Mining
and Manufacturing Company be, and the same is
hereby, empowered to increase its capital stock to
the sum of seven hundred and fifty thousand dol- |
