To the State Tobacco Inspectors in Baltimore,
for the salaries of the five Inspectors, twenty-five
hundred dollars each, twelve thousand five hun-
dred dollars; for insurance on Tobacco Ware-
houses, six hundred dollars, for the payment of
the annual ground rent on the Tobacco Warehouse
lot in Baltimore, four hundred and forty-eight
dollars and eleven cents.
SCHOOLS. |
Inspections. |
For donations to colleges, academies and schools,
thirty-one thousand five hundred dollars; for the
use of the free schools, including the bonus from
banks, dividends from stocks standing to the credit
of the Free School Fund, and so much of the tax
on passengers on the Washington Branch of the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as has been substi-
tuted for the surplus revenue, seventy-five thou-
sand dollars; for the education of the deaf and
dumb, seven thousand five hundred dollars; to
the Agricultural College, six thousand dollars; |

provided, that none of the appropriations to col-
leges, academies and schools shall be paid to any
such institution, unless said institution shall, be-
fore the twentieth day of January, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-eight, make a full report to the
Comptroller, as required by section four of article
eighty-four of the. Code of Public General Laws.

Proviso. |
To the executive for the contingent fund pro-
vided in the Constitution, to be placed at his dis-
posal, six thousand dollars; for contingent fund
for Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House
of Delegates to defray their expenses while acting as
members of State Board of Education, one thou-
sand dollars, for the contingent fund of the Treasury
Department, fifteen hundred dollars; far printing
blank licenses, protests, circulars, warrants and for
books for Comptroller's office, two thousand dollars; |
