CHAPTER 353.

Passed Mar.
19,1867.

AN ACT to incorporate "Star Division" number
twenty-four of the order of the Sons of Temper-
ance of the town of Hancock, in Washington
county.

Incorporated.

Sec. 1. And be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Elwood S. Eastburn, John S.
Hedding, Norval McKinley, William H. Perking,
John Hixon, Clarence Brosins, and the other
members in good standing of "Star Division"
number twenty-four (24) of the order of the Sons
of Temperance, working under a charter from the
Grand Division of Maryland, and located in the
town of Hancock, in Washington county, be and
are hereby declared to be an incorporated body
under the name and title of "Star Division" No.
twenty-four (24) of the order of the Sons of Tem-
perance of Maryland, and are with their successors
hereby vested with the power to sue and be sued,
plead and be impleaded, to purchase and hold a
building to be used by them for Lodge purposes,
or other parties in such manner as they may di-
rect, in conformity with the laws of the State of
Maryland, and to have and use a common seal
with power to change or alter the same at pleasure,
and to do such other things as may be necessary
to carry out the purposes of their organization,
which may not be in conflict with the rules and
usages of the order nor the laws of the State of
Maryland.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, and that
the General Assembly reserves to itself the right to
alter, amend or repeal this Act at pleasure.
