540 , LAWS OF MARYLAND.

seventy-seven, eighty-two,, ninety, ninety-one and
ninety-two, of the Act of eighteen hundred and
sixty-six, Chapter forty-seven, relating to the town
of Frostburg, in Allegany county, be and the same
are hereby repealed and the following Sections en-
acted and substituted in lieu of them.

Limits of the
Town.

Sec. 13. The bounds and limits of said town shall
be as follows. Beginning at the North-east conner
of Mrs. Dillion's Stable, and running thence
North eighteen degrees, West thirty-three perches;
North thirty-six degrees, West forty-six perches;
North sixty degrees, West thirty perches; North
thirty-three degrees, West sixty-four perches;
North thirty-nine degrees, West forty-eight per-
ches; South eighteen degrees, West seventy per-
ches; South twenty-six degrees, East one hundred
perches; South fifty-one degrees, West forty-eight
perches; South thirty and one-half degrees, East
one hundred perches; and then by a straight line
to the beginning.

Mayor and
Councilmen.

Sec. 77. The Mayor and Councilmen shall meet
at the Council Chamber on the Second Monday in
June, being the Monday next succeeding their
election, and the Councilmen shall there, before
they enter on the duties of their office, make oath
before the Mayor that they will diligently and
faithfully to the best of their judgment perform
the duties of Councilmen of said town, without
favor, partiality or prejudice; and the Mayor shall
take the oath prescribed by the Constitution as di-
rected by Article sixty-eight, Section six, of the
Code of Public General Laws, previous to said
Second Monday of June.

Authority to
pass ordinan-ces,,
&c.

Sec.. 82. The Mayor and Councilmen may pass
such ordinances, not contrary to law, as they may
deem beneficial to the town; they shall have power
to remove all nuisances and obstructions from the
streets, lanes and alleys, and from any lots ad-
joining thereto, and also any houses or other build-
ings that may become dangerous to the neighbor-
hood on any account, and to prevent all nuisances,
annoyances and disturbances in said town, and to
prevent the erection of slaughter-houses within six
hundred feet from the boundaries of said town,
and to build a town watch-house, and they may
