CHAPTER 261.

AN ACT for the relief of Nathaniel Duke, George
W. Dowell, Thomas B. Billingsley and Richard
Hance, administrators of William Billingsley.

Passed Mar.
13,1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Nathaniel Duke, George W.
Dowell, Thomas B. Billingsley and Richard Hance,
administrators of William Billingsley, be and they
are hereby released from the payment of any and
all interest due the State of Maryland, on a judg-
ment recovered by said State in the Circuit Court
for Calvert County in said State, at the May Term
of said Court, in the year eighteen hundred and
fifty-six, against the said William Billingsley,
Nathaniel Duke, George W. Dowell and Thomas
B. Billingsley, for the sum of one thousand six
hundred and forty-six dollars and two cents, with
interest thereon from the twelfth day of May, in
the year eighteen hundred and fifty-six, the same
being the amount then due said State from said
William Billingsley, a defaulting Collector of taxes
for the Second Collection District of the County
aforesaid, and for which the above mentioned judg-
ment was recovered on the bond given by said Wil-
liam Billingsley with Nathaniel Duke, George W.
Dowell and Thomas B. Billingsley, as securities
thereon for the faithful performance of his duties
as Collector aforesaid for the year eighteen hundred

ed.

and fifty-one; provided, that the principal of the
judgment aforesaid, shall be paid into the Treasury
on or before the first day of April next.

Proviso.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That the
Comptroller upon the payment of the principal due
on the aforesaid judgment or claim, as hereinbefore
provided, shall have the said judgment entered
satisfied, and the account in the Comptrollers
Office against the said William Billingsley, and
for which the said judgment was recovered, shall
be balanced, and entered adjusted.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall
take effect from the day of its passage,
