her of deeds, mortgages, bill of sale, trial papers,
causes of action or other instruments of writing
which have been restored; and the number of
papers indexed, &c., and five dollars per diem for
discharging the duties required of the said Com-
missioner by the fourteen - section of this Act, |

provided, that the whole amount of per diem for
discharging the duties required by said fourteen -
section shall not amount to more than one hund-
red dollars. |
Proviso. |
Sec. 17.. And be it enacted, That all expenses
not herein specially enumerated incidental to the
commission hereby created, shall be certified by
the said Commissioner with proper vouchers to the
said county Commissioners who shall pay the same
and for the purpose of providing means for carry-
ing out the provisions of this Act and meeting the
expenses of the same, the county Commissioners
of Baltimore county are hereby authorized, direct-
ed and required to levy upon the taxable property
of Baltimore county to be included in the levy for
eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, the sum of two
thousand dollars, which sum and all unexpanded
balances upon any levy which has been made by
the said county Commissioners for the purpose of
restoring and re-establishing the said records, &c., |
Expenses—
how paid. |
is hereby appropriated to the object; provided,
nevertheless that if the sum of two thousand dol-
lars and such unexpended balances if any there
be, should not be required to complete the work
for which this commission is created, so much
thereof as shall remain unexpended shall be car-
ried to the credit of said county in the levy suc-
ceeding the close of this commission. |
Proviso. |
Sec. 18. And be it enacted. That in the event
of the death, resignation or disability of the said
Commissioner, the county Commissioners of Bal-
timore county shall fill such vacancy at the next
regular meeting after they shall have been duly
informed of such vacancy. |
Vacancy. |
Sec. 19. And be it enacted, That the commis-
sion hereby created shall continue and remain in
force for one year from the date of the passage of
this Act. |
