the same generally upon the whole of the assessa-
ble property of said town or specially upon the
assessable property of persons benefited thereby. |

Sec. 17. Be it enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Cecil County, may, at discretion,
levy annually upon the assessable property of the
County, and pay over to the said President and
Commissioners the sum of fifty dollars) to aid in
keeping the streets of said town, as part of the
public roads of the County in good repair. |

Sec. 18, Be it enacted. That all taxes, fines,
forfeitures and penalties) imposed by the said Com-
missioners by virtue of any law or ordinance, shall
be applied for the use of the said town, as may
from time to time by ordinance be directed. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Samuel G. Miles, Saint John
Carroll, John B. Roberts) John B. Eschbach,
Frederick A. Kraft, Thomas G. Scharf, Adam
Kabler, James Brounch, Daniel Harvey, James
R. Marley, George Helfrich, Arthur Page, John
G. Purcell, William Hopkins and John Small,
Jr., the subscribers to the stock of the Company
and their successors shall be and are hereby de-
clared to be a body politic and corporate, by the
name and style of the President and Directors of
the Monumental Fire Insurance Company of Bal-
timore) and by that name shall have succession
and be capable in law to sue and be sued, plead
and be impleaded, answer and be answered, de-
fend and be defended in all Courts of law and |
Incorporated. . |
