ing and Manufacturing Company of Baltimore
City, and as such shall have perpetual succession,
and shall be able to sue and be sued, plead
and be impleaded, to make or cause to be made
and at all times use a common seal for all purposes
of said body corporate requiring the same.

Object of in-
corporation.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the objects at'
the said corporation are to be: construction of
iron, steel and timber ships and other vessels, all
steam enginery .and apparatus necessary to the
propelling the same, and all machinery for min-
ing coals, peat and other fuel , also, all locomo-
tives and other vehicles for transporting same for
the use of the said manufactories, steam vessels,
and all other purposes, and they may construct all
the necessary fixtures, apparatus, crossings, docks,
dock-yards, dry-docks, piers and bridges where-
soever the same may be necessary; the said roads
and canals may begin at or near the mines, facto-
ries, mills, storehouses and depots, or other pro-
perty of the said company, and may run to or
from same to tide-water, or any other convenient
point or place that may suit the business and
interests of the said company; and it is autho-
rized to purchase, lease or hold and again grant,
sell and dispose of all real and personal estate
necessary for conducting its business, and also to
erect on said estate all necessary and convenient
buildings for the above purposes.

Capital stock
limited.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of the said company shall not be less than one
hundred thousand dollars, nor more than five
hundred thousand dollars, and that when the sum
of one hundred thousand dollars, to be divided
into shares of one hundred dollars each, and one-
fifth of each share paid in, then the said company
shall be deemed incorporated, and may avail
themselves of the provisions and franchises of
this Act, and may receive in part for subscription
to its capital stock mineral and other lands, mate-
rials, enginery and apparatus, which may be use-
ful and necessary in the equipment of their
works.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this corpora-
tion is hereby authorized to ordain and establish
