language, giving or conveying any notice, hint or
reference to any person or to the name of any per-
son real or fictitious from whom or to any place,
house, shop or office where any poison, drug, mix-
ture, preparation, medicine or noxious thing, or
any instrument or means whatsoever, or any ad-
vice, direction, information or knowledge may be
obtained for the purpose of causing the miscar-
riage or abortion of any woman pregnant with
child, shall be punished by imprisonment, in the
penitentiary at hard labor for not less than three
years, or by a fine of not less than five hundred
dollars, nor more than one thousand dollars, or
both, in the discretion of the Court, and in case of
fine being imposed one-half shall be paid to the
informer. |

Sec. 17. Be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage. |

AN ACT to add the following sections to Article
eighty-one of the Code of Public General Laws,
title, Revenue and Taxes, sub-title direct Taxes,
relating to the sale of real and leasehold estates
for taxes in the several counties. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the following sections be
added to Article eighty-one, of the Code of Public
General Laws, title Revenue and Taxes, sub-title
direct Taxes, and re-arranged under the head of
section direct taxes in said Article. |

Circuit Court. |
Sec. 1. That in all cases where lands held in
fee-simple or by lease have been sold or shall be
sold for payment of taxes in arrears according to
the provisions of existing laws, it shall be the
duty of the collector of taxes to report the said
sale, together with all the proceedings had in re. |
